The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests announced that six million heads of sheep and goats, intended for slaughter on Eid al-Adha 1443, have been identified as of June 16.
“As of June 16, 6 million heads of sheep and goats have been identified by placing specific loops Eid al-Adha on the ears of animals, bearing a serial number for traceability,” said the Ministry in a statement.
According to the same source, the program of registration of breeding units and identification of sheep and goats for slaughter was launched by the National Office of Food Safety (ONSSA) since 1 April 2022.
The veterinary services of the ONSSA have registered more than 242,000 units of sheep and goat fattening intended for Eid. These units are subject to regular monitoring in terms of the food used and the health status of animals, until the day of Eid.
