Cycling/UCI ranking: Morocco dethrones South Africa and rises to 2nd African rank

The Moroccan cycling selection remained in 26th place in the world ranking of the International Cycling Union (UCI), thus dethroning South Africa from 2nd African rank.

According to the latest UCI ranking, published on its website on Tuesday, the national cycling team is in 2nd place on the African “UCI -Africa Tour” scale with 1,724 points, behind the Eritrean team, first in Africa and 19th worldwide with 3,499.24 points.

The South African cycling team fell one place, now occupying 3rd African rank (27th in the world), with 1,480.57 points.

Regarding the ranking of continental teams, the Moroccan team “Sidi Ali Unlock”, which has in its ranks cyclists of different nationalities, occupies the first place with 194 points, followed by the team “May Stars”, 2nd with 90 points, and the Angolan team “Bai Sicasal Petro Luanda” (50 points).

In addition, two Moroccan riders are in the African Top 10 (UCI-Africa Tour), namely Achraf Ed-Doghmi (4th, 535 points) and Adil El Arbaoui (7th, 390 points).
