Support for industrial innovation: signature of financing contracts for 14 projects

Financing contracts for 14 Research and Development (R&D) and industrial innovation projects were signed on Tuesday in Rabat, aimed at financing the best Research and Development (R&D) and industrial innovation projects.

Initialed by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Chakib Alj, the Managing Director of MarocPME, Mr. Brahim Arjdal and the project leaders concerned, these project financing contracts are part of the Support Program for Industrial Innovation, financed through the Innovation Support Fund (FSI).

These projects, whose overall cost of implementation amounts to nearly 50 million dirhams (MDH), financed up to 56% by the FSI, are selected for the 1st edition of the call for projects relating to the said program which was launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in partnership with the CGEM, with the objective of identifying the selection, for the year 2023, of the best industrial R&D and innovation projects eligible for financial support from the state.

“The financing contracts that we are signing today represent the first step in an ambitious program that will enable our national innovation ecosystem to be further consolidated and our manufacturers to unleash their technological potential and strengthen their competitiveness”, indicated Mr. Mezzour on this occasion, stressing the importance of innovation and R&D as essential levers for the development of industry and innovative entrepreneurship.

For his part, Mr. Alj called on young Moroccan companies to participate in this 1st edition of the call for projects launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in partnership with the CGEM, noting that R&D is an essential component in the development of the Moroccan economy.

For his part, the Director of Food Industries of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Youssef Fadil, said that the selected companies operate in various sectors including health, food, chemicals, security and technology.

It should be noted that the State has mobilized over the period 2023-2025 a budget envelope of 300 MDH per year to support at least 100 eligible projects per year.

The purpose of this financial effort is to support projects launched in industrial sectors and technological sectors linked to Industry, and particularly in the professions of the future.

The projects selected come from five regions, namely Casablanca-Settat, Fez-Meknes, Souss-Massa, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, and Marrakech-Safi, and are carried out by 7 companies and 5 industrial start-ups and concern several industrial sectors and technological sectors (agrifood and Agritech, mining industry, chemical industry, electronics and artificial intelligence, medical device industry and waste treatment).
