Consumer Price Index Up 7.7% in July (HCP)

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded in July 2022, a 7.7% increase compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP).

This increase is the result of the rise in the index of food products (12%) and of non-food products (5%), explains the HCP in a note on the CPI for July.

For non-food products, the variations range from an increase of 0.2% for “Health” to 18.3% for “Transport”, the same source adds.

On a month-to-month basis, the CPI has experienced a 0.9% increase in July, due to a 1.6% rise of the index of food products and a 0.5% increase in the index of non-food products.
