Morocco defeated South Africa by 2 goals to 1 in Group K’s first day of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, played on Thursday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
Lyle Brent Foster opened the scoring with an early goal in the 8th minute, before Youssef En-Nesyri equalized in the 51st minute. Ayoub El Kaabi sealed the match with the winning goal (87th).
