Anouar Benazzouz officially takes over the presidency of the International Road Federation

Anouar Benazzouz, Managing Director (DG) of the Moroccan National Motorway Company (ADM), officially took office, as President of the International Road Federation (IRF), on May 20, 2022, in Leipzig (Germany), in the presence of the Moroccan Minister of Transport and Logistics.

The Director General (DG) of the National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM), Anouar Benazzouz, begins his presidency at the head of the International Road Federation (IRF). He officially takes office on May 20, 2022 in Leipzig, during the summit of the International Transport Forum (ITF), held under the presidency of Morocco. Recall that the CEO of the ADM was elected unanimously at a general assembly of the Federation, which took place on March 29 in Amsterdam (Holland). He thus succeeds Bill Halkias who has completed his 3-year term.

To celebrate this event, a symbolic ceremony took place, in situ, at Morocco’s stand at the FIT summit. This saw the participation of the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohammed Abdeljalil, who was accompanied by a large Moroccan delegation. According to the ADM, the election of its CEO is due to 2 reasons. First, the active presence of ADM on the international scene of road and motorway players, as well as its commitment to position Morocco as a regional hub and African leader in the field. Secondly the efforts and the work provided by his boss as vice-president of the IRF during the last 4 years.

Anouar Benazzouz intends to pursue the implementation of the Federation’s mission to promote the development of safe, efficient and sustainable infrastructure on an international scale. It also intends to work on strengthening partnerships, by uniting and mobilizing all actors and stakeholders.
