Chile: Mohammed VI Cultural Center for Dialogue of Civilizations Awarded ‘Insignia of Excellence’

The Mohammed VI Cultural Center for the Dialogue of Civilizations in Chile was awarded the “Insignia of Excellence” by the Chilean Ministry of Tourism in recognition of the institution’s efforts to comply with all the health measures required during the pandemic.

During the pandemic, the center, located in the city of Coquimbo (460km to the north of Santiago), made sure that the different sanitary measures decreed by the local authorities were respected.

In a speech on the occasion, the Mayor of Coquimbo, Ali Manouchehri, stressed that the Mohammed VI Cultural Center for the Dialogue of Civilizations is a source of pride for the city, its authorities, its residents and all tourists who visit the city to discover its most emblematic landmarks.

The mayor of the city renewed his thanks to Morocco for this timeless monument that embodies the strength of the ties uniting the two friendly countries, Morocco and Chile.

Morocco’s ambassador to Chile, Kenza El Ghali thanked the local authorities for the attention and importance attached to this cultural center and its activities. Thanks to the high directives of HM King Mohammed VI, aimed at promoting the values of openness between peoples and cultures, the Mohammed VI Cultural Center for the Dialogue of Civilizations enjoys special attention throughout the world, she said.

The ceremony was also an opportunity to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the founding of the center.
