El Jadida…(CREMAI)2023 Kicks off with a rich program of activities

Kick-off for the International Trade Fair for Hotel, Restaurant, Pastry, Bakery and Food Professionals (CREMAI)! After four years of forced absence, this African high mass of gastronomy is making a comeback in the heart of the prestigious Mohammed VI Exhibition Park in El Jadida, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Rahal Events, undisputed pillar of the event, orchestrates this tenth edition with unfailing determination: to breathe new life into the hospitality sector.

The inauguration of the show was a solemn moment, with the presence of Saïd Ahmidouch, the wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, as well as Karim Rahal Essoulami, CEO of Rahal Events. This ceremony, placed under the sign of hope and rebirth, officially launched the festivities and reaffirmed the common commitment of the various actors to revitalize the sector.

The grand parade of 750 renowned brands, announced at the Salon, promises a stage where African and Moroccan culinary excellence is revealed to an international audience. The event rolls out a red carpet of innovative initiatives, bold investments and human capital, cornerstones of the recovery of the sector.

At the heart of this gastronomic symphony, high-flying competitions, crowning the cream of the professionals, will mark the event. The public eagerly awaits the African Bakery Cup, the African and Middle East Chefs’ Cup, as well as the African selections for the African Pastry Cup and the prestigious Bocuse d’Or Africa.

On the sidelines of these dazzling competitions, Rahal Event unveils a new nugget: the “Best Artisan of Morocco” prize. This brilliant initiative aims to sublimate Moroccan artisanal excellence and catalyze a virtuous sector dynamic.

More than a simple exhibition, CREMAI 2023 stands out with a rich program of conferences which aims to address the major challenges of the CHR sector. This forum for discussion and reflection offers professionals the opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities that the CHR sector encounters in a constantly changing world.

On the program for Wednesday, May 17, discussions on the future of catering with food-tech and delivery platforms, as well as on the importance of human capital management in the CHR. The next day, the meeting is given around the digital transformation in the CHR and the role of influence marketing in the communication of companies in the hospitality sector.

On Friday 19, environmental themes will be in the spotlight with an exploration of the challenges of recycling, food waste and energy efficiency, as well as the role of sustainable tourism in the development of the sector. Finally, on Saturday 20, the day will be devoted to trends in decoration and design in the hotel and catering industry, as well as to the evolution of the consumption habits of generations Z and Y in the CHR.

Each conference is intended to be a space for sharing ideas, expertise and vision, stimulating lively conversations and constructive debates among thought leaders, decision-makers and innovators in the hospitality sector.

Morocco is asserting itself as the essential crossroads of the CHR sector in Africa. CREMAI 2023 aims to strengthen this position by establishing a cultural and gastronomic bridge between the Kingdom and the African continent, in perfect harmony with the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
