Moroccan Chairmanship of AU PSC for October Discussed at Meeting in Addis Ababa

The Moroccan chairmanship of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) for the month of October was the focus of a meeting, Thursday in Addis Ababa, between Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the AU and UNECA, Ambassador Mohamed Arrouchi, and Deputy Chairperson for the African Union Commission, Monique Nsanzabaganwa.

During this meeting, the exchange focused on the program of the Moroccan chairmanship of the AU PSC for next October, in addition to the current issues within the African Union.

Morocco was elected member of the PSC of the AU for a second term of three years 2022-2025 after that of 2018-2020.

This election for this three-year term reflects the key and historic role of Morocco in the maintenance of peace and security in Africa and illustrates the confidence that the Kingdom enjoys within the pan-African organization.
