Morocco-Mexico: Minister Bensaid Highlights Importance of Cultural Proximity in Bilateral Cooperation

Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid highlighted, Tuesday in Mexico City, the importance of cultural proximity in strengthening cooperation between Morocco and Mexico.

Bensaid, who visited the headquarters of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Kingdom to Mexico, Abdelfattah Lebbar, noted that the cultural proximity between the two countries defies the legal distance and draws its roots in history.

He stressed, in this context, the need to expand the cultural cooperation agreement being established to the film sector for closer collaboration, including through the establishment of film and TV co-productions.

During this visit, the Minister held talks with the president of the Board of Directors of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, Santiago Creel Miranda, the president of the Mexico-Morocco Friendship Group in the same Chamber, Janine Patricia Quijano Tapia, the president of the Commission on Technology and Innovation, Javier Lopez Casarin and the vice president of the Green Group in the same Chamber, Juan Carlos Natale Lopez.

Bensaid is leading the Moroccan delegation to the UNESCO Mondiacult World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development, which is being held from 28 to 30 September in Mexico City.
