Morocco ranks sixth in the Arab world and 56 globally in the “Artificial Intelligence” index

Morocco ranked 56th globally, and 6th in the Arab world in the “Tortoise media” list of artificial intelligence, out of 62 countries included in the classification.

With regard to the classification’s sub-indicators, the Kingdom ranked 56th in the Artificial Intelligence Government Strategies Index, 59th globally in the Artificial Intelligence Development Index, 60th globally in the Artificial Intelligence Commercial Applications Index, and 43rd in the Operational Environment of Artificial Intelligence.

At the Arab level, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ranked first, ranking 26th globally, followed by the United Arab Emirates 34, Qatar 47, Bahrain 51, Tunisia 54, Morocco 56, Egypt 59, while the United States ranked first in the world, followed by successively China, the United Kingdom, Canada, Israel, Singapore, South Korea, the Netherlands, Germany, then France, while Kenya ranked 60th, Nigeria 61st, and Pakistan 62nd.

The Tortoise Intelligence Index is based on ranking countries on more than 143 measures of the level of investment, innovation, and implementation of artificial intelligence technologies across several criteria, such as infrastructure strength, operational environment, research and development, and others.

Artificial intelligence is a transformative phenomenon in business, government and society. But it is also commonly misunderstood or misrepresented.

The Global AI Index is making sense of artificial intelligence in 62 countries around the world.
