Morocco Works for Region’s Energy Sovereignty, Security – RES4Africa

Morocco is working for the sovereignty and energy security of the region, said, Friday in Rimini, the secretary general of the RES4Africa Foundation, Roberto Vigotti, referring to the strategic project of the Moroccan-Nigerian gas pipeline.

The Kingdom is now betting on the interconnection of electricity and gas, thus strengthening its energy independence and that of the continent, Vigotti told MAP on the sidelines of the 25th Ecomondo and Key Energy shows, underlining the importance of the Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project.

Morocco is one of the most influential models in terms of energy transition in Africa, he said, noting that the country has deployed all the necessary strategies, policies and means, as well as the most innovative technologies, to succeed in this project.

The secretary general of this foundation, which brings together a wide network of members of the clean energy sector in Africa and Europe, also welcomed the fruitful cooperation between RES4Africa and Morocco, announcing a strengthened partnership program planned for next year.
