Morocco’s Ports Agency: Consolidated Turnover Increases by 6.2% in 2022

The consolidated turnover of the National Agency of Ports (ANP) reached 2.32 billion dirhamsin 2022, up by 6.2% compared to 2021.

This evolution is explained, mainly, by the increase in the ANP’s turnover and the effect of the resumption of the activity of the SGPTV company (Société de Gestion du Port de Tanger ville) in April 2022 after a halt in activity due to the Covid-19 pandemic, said the Agency in a financial statement.

The social turnover was established, for its part, at 2.09 billion dirhams at the end of 2022, achieving a slight increase of 1.2% compared to the same period of 2021.

For the fourth quarter alone, the consolidated turnover amounted to MAD 617 million, up by 4.6%. The social turnover showed a slight decrease of 0.4% to MAD 553 million.

Regarding the activity of ports managed by the ANP, it reached a level of traffic of 20 million tons (MT) in Q4-2022, a decrease of 10.5% compared to Q4-2021. Since the beginning of the year, the level of traffic has reached 87.2 MT (-4.2%).

As for the investments made by ANP, they amounted to MAD 707 million at the end of December 2022, against 850 million MAD a year earlier. For the 4th quarter, they amounted to MAD 282 million, after MAD 263 million in Q4-2021.

The consolidated debt amounted to more than MAD 7.28 billion at the end of December 2022, against MAD 7.14 billion a year earlier.
