Morocco’s Samir Jaouher Wins Casablanca International Marathon

Moroccan Samir Jaouher won on Sunday the 13th Casablanca International Marathon, by finishing in 2:12:27.

Samir Jaouher beat his two compatriots Mustapha Haddadi (2:13:13) and Omar Chitachen (2:15:10).

In a statement to the press, Samir Jaouher stressed that his victory in the Casablanca International Marathon “is the result of several months of intensive training,” adding that “the race was difficult.”

In the women’s race, Kenyan Omyangui Jane Moraa Quizad came first, running the distance of 42.195 km in 2:34:30, while the 2nd place went to Moroccan Keltoum Bouaasriya with a time of 2:34:46, ahead of Kenyan Sang Chelangat (2:36:53).

Organized under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, this sporting event offered this year three major events: the Marathon 42 km, the Half-Marathon 21km and the Relay Race 10km.
