Romain Saiss opens the door to a departure

Romain Saiss has hinted his Wolves career could be over at the end of the season after six years at Molineux.

Romain Saiss has been offered a new deal by the club along with his Wolves deal this summer. However, the captain of the Atlas Lions is in full reflection and may well refuse to extend.

The 32-year-old defender said his future was “more or less” decided and the trend was more towards leaving. ” I think if it’s not all done before the end of the season it just means it’s time to go because I want to be set for next season.”he said Saiss in an interview with Sky Sports.

“With the World Cup, I have to start the season at the right time. I need to know what will happen to me as soon as possible”adds the Lion of the Atlas.

“I never thought I would stay for six years but I’m really happy to have played a part in this project since the first day I signed for this club. If I have to leave, I just say thank you for the support throughout these six years. Maybe I’m not the best player they’ve seen at this club. But I always fought for the club, I always gave my best. I gave everything. If they can keep one thing in mind, it’s this“, concluded Romain Saiss, who has several offers.

Indeed, clubs like Real Betis, Villarreal, Wolfsburg, Marseille, Lyon, Rennes and Strasbourg are all interested in signing the 32-year-old this summer.

The Moroccan international joined the West Midlands side in 2016 from Angers. After six years at the British club, the Moroccan player’s performance has been superlative, being a true pillar of Wolves’ defence.

Moreover, this season has been no different, with the Moroccan fitting in perfectly from Bruno Lage. Under the Portuguese coach, the Black Country side have been one of the strongest defenses in the Premier League.
