Signing a partnership framework agreement between the Ministry of Higher Education and Orange Maroc

On the sidelines of the Digital Transformation Forum, held in Casablanca, a partnership framework agreement was signed between the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and Orange Morocco to launch the “Cloud Academy”, in a ceremony chaired by the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Mr. Abdellatif Mirawi and the Director The General Manager of Orange Maroc, Mr. Hendrik Castel, on Wednesday May 17, 2023 in Casablanca.

A joint communiqué of the Ministry and Orange Morocco stated that this partnership framework agreement embodies the commitment of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and Orange Morocco to actively contribute to the success of the digital transformation of the Kingdom. It also falls within the framework of activating the national plan to accelerate the transformation of the system of higher education, scientific research and innovation. Particularly in the part related to the suitability of the training offer with the needs of the socio-economic sectors, in order to enable students with digital skills in innovative technological fields such as cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.

In his speech on this occasion, the Minister stressed that “technological developments in the digital field provide tremendous opportunities to accelerate the process of modernizing our economy and enhance the competitiveness of our companies. For this reason, the national plan to accelerate the transformation of the system of higher education, scientific research and innovation puts digitization at the heart of strategic choices and pays special attention.” To form a reservoir of competencies in the professions of digitization, as well as to promote scientific research in this promising field.

For his part, Mr. Hendrik Castel, General Manager of Orange Maroc, affirmed that “the establishment of the “Cloud Academy” in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation reflects our common will to create a new generation of digital talents capable of facing the technological challenges of today and tomorrow. Together, We are building the foundations of a thriving digital economy and opening new horizons for students across Morocco.”

It should be noted that the students participating in the “Cloud Academy” will benefit from a high-level and high-quality training provided by experts from “Orange Morocco” and its partners in the field of modern technologies, and will enable them to benefit from innovative learning programs, practical workshops and modern educational resources.
