Smart Port Challenge 2: mobilization of partners by ASMEX

The Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX) recently organized a meeting, in hybrid mode, which brought together all stakeholders and port actors. Objective of the initiative, to mobilize them for the 2nd Edition of Smart Port Challenge.

The National Ports Agency (ANP) and the National Single Window for Foreign Trade (PortNet) will organize from September 1, 2022, a new edition of the Hackaton called “Smart Port Challenge”. To this end, the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX) held a meeting a few days ago with all stakeholders and port actors. The aim was to mobilize them around this process of innovation in favor of the fluidification of the flow of goods passing through the ports, the reduction of the waiting time for ships in the harbour, the facilitation of foreign trade procedures, and of course others. For its 2022 Edition, the challengers will be awarded at the end of September on the sidelines of the Conference and International Exhibition of One-Stop Shops scheduled for Marrakech.

Inspired by successful global experiences, the Hackaton approach initiated by the ANP and PortNet, aims to respond to the various challenges of the port sector through the emergence of creative and innovative solutions by calling on the collective intelligence of the port ecosystem. . All this, in order to create the appropriate conditions for smart ports, through the coordination of the actions of the various stakeholders to provide practical solutions to the needs of port users.

The ASMEX meeting saw the participation of its President, Hassan Sentissi El Idrissi, as well as the President of its Logistics Division, Abdelaziz Mantrach. It should be noted that the commitment of all the port partners present at this meeting (Ministry of Industry and Trade, Administration of Customs and Indirect Taxes, ONSSA, Morocco Foodex, MASCIR, etc.) for this Hackathon project constitutes a step forward. to develop solutions aimed at improving the economic and logistical performance of Moroccan ports and reducing their environmental impact.
