Start of Academic Cycle in Preparation for “African Lion 2022” Exercise (FAR General Staff)

As part of the Global Military Cooperation Plan and in preparation for the “African Lion 2022” exercise, the academic cycle of training for this year’s exercise was launched this Monday, June 06, 2022 for the benefit of FAR and multinational personnel.

This activity, scheduled punctually at the level of the Staff of the South Zone in Agadir, on the sidelines of the “African Lion” exercise, will concern this year training in areas related to the conduct of operational maneuvers, among others, the method of joint operational planning, legal aspects, public information, medical planning, cybersecurity and evaluation techniques of a joint exercise, said a statement by the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.

Promoted by military instructors from FAR, the United States of America and other international partner countries, the trainings aim to develop interoperability between forces, the exchange of expertise and experience in various fields as well as preparation for functions related to planning within the Operational Centers formed on the occasion of the execution of the “African Lion 2022” exercise, added the statement.

It should be recalled that the 18th edition of the “African Lion 2022” exercise organized by FAR and the U.S. Armed Forces will be attended by representatives of 18 partner countries, in addition to military observers from some thirty African and international countries. The maneuvers of the exercise will be conducted from June 20 to July 1, 2022 in the regions of Kenitra, Agadir, TanTan, Taroudant and Mahbes, concluded the same source.
