Moroccan Wadia Ait Hamza will head the Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGL), a prestigious World Economic Forum (WEF) network of 1,400 members, in June 2022.
He was appointed on the eve of the opening of the WEF in Davos, Switzerland. A first in the history of this international organization created in 2004 and bringing together important personalities.
Among these, we find Nobel Prize winners, heads of state, heads of large multinationals, as well as leading global figures such as Emmanuel Macron, Jack Ma, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg , Amel Clooney, Jacinda Arden, etc.
Note that this appointment of the Moroccan comes after several years of effort. Finishing his 9th year within the WEF, he currently leads the Global Shapers community of the latter, which has more than 14,000 members.
The WEF specifies that under the leadership of Wadia Ait Hamza, this community has spread to 500 cities, with local projects benefiting 2 million people and reaching more than 11 million people.
