The 7th edition of “Dakhla Downwind Challenge”, a sporting event which consists in reaching Lagouira by kitesurfing from Dakhla, will take place from August 14 to 20.

Placed under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, this sporting event is initiated by the Moroccan Association of Kitesurfing (AMKS), under the aegis of the Royal Moroccan Sailing Federation (FRMV), in partnership with the wilaya of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, the Regional Council and the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Provinces of the Kingdom (APDS), said the organizers in a statement.

This event, which is part of the festivities marking the celebration of the 43rd anniversary of the recovery of the province of Oued Eddahab, offers its participants the largest wind descent in kitesurfing in Africa.

In addition to Moroccan participants, this sporting event will bring together nearly 50 riders, from several countries, including France, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, the United States of America and Israel, said the same source.
