Morocco has won four medals (3 silver and 1 bronze) on the 4th and last day of the African Fencing Championships held from June 15 to 19 in Casablanca.
The Moroccan men’s team won the silver medal in epee, behind Egypt which took the gold medal.
The Moroccan team composed of fencers Houssam El Kard, Abdelkarim El Houari and Omar Nahi lost with a score of 45-35.
Morocco reached the final after beating Senegal, 3rd in the competition, and Algeria.
The women’s foil team won the bronze medal.
The national squad composed of Youssra Zerkani, Manal Saarii and Manal Karmaoui took the best on its Ivorian counterpart (45-22). It lost in the semi-finals against Algeria, while Egypt won the title of the competition.
