A seminar on “Agricultural aggregation, an appropriate solution for the development of irrigation water and the promotion of value chains” was organized by the Agency for Agricultural Development (ADA), this November 15, 2022 in Tangier.
As part of the Support Project for the National Irrigation Water Saving Program (PAPNEEI-2), the Agricultural Development Agency (ADA) held a seminar on the role of agricultural aggregation in the recovery of irrigation water. Organized in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (TTA), the event was an opportunity to present the efforts made by the Department of Agriculture at the level of the Loukkos perimeter, but also an opportunity to present the potential for production and investment in new generation agricultural aggregation projects within the framework of the Generation Green 2020-2030 strategy. This strategy provides, at the level of its first foundation linked to the prioritization of the human element, the launch of a new generation of innovative aggregation projects. The seminar saw the participation of current and potential TTA aggregators as well as representatives of the central and regional directorates of the Department of Agriculture and the AfDB.
Financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), in the irrigated perimeters of Loukkos and Doukkala, PAPNEEI-2 aims to contribute to improving the living conditions of the populations of the target areas. And this through the sustainable management of water resources, the improvement of production as well as the promotion of the value chain in irrigated perimeters. It should be noted that the project consists of the installation and modernization of irrigation water infrastructures over an area of nearly 26,000 hectares (ha) with a localized irrigation system, as well as activities for the development of irrigation water and capacity building of different stakeholders.
