Textile/Clothing: 5 Moroccan students awarded by a haute couture house

La maison de haute couture Balmain awarded this Tuesday, November 15, 2022, in the presence of the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Mr. Younes Sekkouri, three prizes to the best prototypes made by the students from the Casablanca Fashion Academy,

Aziza Abouhafssa, Hasnaa Sanmi, Ricardo Sumbo, Bouchra Halgach and Rahma Rabhi were awarded by the haute couture house Balmain, for their achievements within the framework of educational projects of the Casablanca Fashion Academy.

As part of its educational curriculum and in order to give its students real professional situations, the Casablanca Fashion Academy has asked the French luxury house Balmain to support its students in their graduation projects.

Balmain has adhered to the Academy’s request to provide educational support to the students of the said Academy in commercializing a skirt from the Fall-Winter 2022/2023 show in order to mass-produce it, and reduce production costs, while preserving the codes intrinsic to the brand. In order to support its students in the realization of their projects, the Casablanca Fashion Academy called on the company Evlox, a high-end denim fabric production company Made In Morocco and the company Crossing, an “Original Design Manufacturer” specializing in denim and sportswear to help and assist learners in the industrialization of the model. The work carried out in pairs, within the Academy and the company Crossing, made it possible to propose new sketches, to take advantage of the finishing techniques developed by the company Crossing, to carry out the patterns and gradations while keeping the part DNA.
