Head of Government Calls for Massive Mobilization to Implement Unified Social Register

Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch called, on Wednesday in Rabat, for a massive mobilization to implement the Unified Social Register (French acronym RSU), given its efficient use for targeting poor and vulnerable families.

Chairing a meeting on ways to accelerate the deployment and implementation of the RSU, Mr. Akhannouch stressed that the deployment of the unified social register is an important practical step to improve the efficiency of social programs, a statement from the department of the Head of Government said.

After recalling the High Royal Directions relating to the RSU, contained in the speech delivered by His Majesty the King on the occasion of the Throne Day, the Head of Government stressed that the RSU is part of an integrated perspective to strengthen the foundations of the welfare state, which includes the completion of the compulsory health coverage by 2022 and the generalization of family allowances by the end of 2023.

This meeting reflects the government’s firm commitment to accelerate the implementation of the RSU and its monitoring mechanisms, as part of the implementation of the generalization of social protection, in full compliance with the deadlines set by the Royal Instructions, the statement added.

This meeting was held in the presence of Interior Minister, Abdelouafi Laftit, the Secretary General of the Government, Mohamed Hajoui, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa.

Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, Minister of Solidarity, of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aawatif Hayar, Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour, the Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Hassan Boubrik, and the Director General of the National Health Insurance Agency, Khaled Lahlou, also attended the meeting.
