National Day of Industry: the Kingdom boosts industrial development

Wednesday, March 29, 2023, will open in Casablanca, the first edition of the “National Day of Industry”, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohamed VI.

A national event with a strategic scope, the National Day of Industry will bring together ministries, institutions concerned, professional federations and private operators in order to promote exchanges on the strategic development issues of the sector and the priorities of the new industrial strategy.

The successive industrial strategies, put in place under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI (may God assist him), have made it possible to build the foundations of a modern industrial Morocco, position it as a competitive global platform and reveal their potential, resilience and agility.

On the strength of development supported by the creation of world-class competitive industrial ecosystems, the industry has entered into an exceptional dynamic, becoming a major provider of jobs and a catalyst for productive investment. Thanks to its proven know-how and skills, the sector can now make “Made in Morocco” a guarantee of internationally renowned quality. The Moroccan industry is entering a new structuring phase of its evolution, resolutely turned towards the challenges to come.

Issues that will guide the development of the new industrial strategy as part of the operationalization of the recommendations of the New Development Model, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions. A strategy that should capitalize on the achievements of the Kingdom and strengthen its attractiveness by making productive investment an essential lever for accelerating the anchoring of Morocco in promising sectors, the creation of quality jobs and the enlargement of the territorial footprint of Moroccan industry. It is in this context that the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises are co-organizing, on March 29, 2023, in Casablanca, the 1st edition of the “National Day of Industry”. .

The National Day of Industry, the next editions of which will be broken down into regions in order to highlight local industrial potential and deal with specific associated issues, will be included in the global calendar of economic events, as an annual reference event. industry in Morocco.

This first edition will meet the objectives of confirming the position of the industry, as a national priority aimed at making it an axial lever for the development of Morocco. But also to promote productive investment in industry on a national and regional scale, to make it more attractive and to enhance it. Establish an industrial environment conducive to investment and increase the development of industrial enterprises by addressing the structural causes that hinder their competitiveness.

Also, develop “Made in Morocco” as a marker of quality and competitiveness, and a lever for accelerating integration into global and regional value chains; Promote innovation at the service of industry, making it possible to integrate new production methods and improve the competitiveness of the Moroccan industrial sector; Support productive SMEs within the framework of industrial ecosystems and encourage the emergence of leading national champions; Accelerate the sustainable transition of Moroccan industry by reducing its carbon footprint and rationalizing the use of resources and finally strengthening synergies between the various industrial sector federations and supporting them in the deployment of their roadmaps.
