Rabat: 29th Ordinary Session of Higher Council of Ulema Wraps Up

The 29th ordinary session of the Higher Council of Ulema ended, Saturday in Rabat, in the presence of Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq.

This session, held with the High Approval of HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, President of the Higher Council of Ulema, addressed issues relating in particular to “the action of the Higher Council of Ulema and Local Councils of Ulema since the last session”, “the activity of the Local Councils of Ulema in terms of prevention and development” and “the optimization of the action of Imams, Morchidines and Morchidates”.

In a statement to the press on this occasion, president of the Local Council of Ulema of Beni Mellal, Said Chabar, said that the Ulema of the Kingdom are committed to continuing their mission of awareness and sensitization of citizens to issues relating to their religion, while calling for the preservation of religious choices of Moroccans.

The Higher Council of Ulema works tirelessly to ensure a permanent contact with citizens and to enshrine the values of tolerance and living together, based on the religious choices of the Kingdom, he said.

The closing ceremony of this session was marked by the reading of a message of fidelity and loyalty addressed to HM King Mohammed VI.
