The company “MEVA Shoes”, specializing in the manufacture of city shoes, sports shoes and sandals, proceeded this Wednesday, March 08, 2023, to the inauguration of a new manufacturing unit, in Mohammedia, in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour.
The launch of this project is part of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s strategy of import substitution, particularly in the manufacture of sports shoes, a large part of which is imported from foreign countries. Indeed, MEVA Shoes will manufacture for international brands, but will also develop its own brands which will be marketed on the Moroccan market.
With an investment of 23 million dirhams, this plant will create 250 direct and indirect jobs and will generate a turnover of 60 million dirhams. Its planned production capacity is 2000 pairs per day.
On this occasion, Minister Ryad Mezzour congratulated himself on the realization of this 100% Moroccan investment which will contribute to strengthening local production while ensuring the guarantee of quality of the Morocco label. And to add “in addition to its ability to offer diversified and quality products, this project once again shows the ability of the textile industry to show resilience, develop its offer and allow all budgets to consume Moroccan “.
